Welcome Hello there and welcome to ‘The A to Z of pop!’
My name is Richard Smith and I am a former member of both Nottingham Hospitals Radio (NHR), and Radio Robin (Ilkeston Community Hospital Radio), with over 20 years of programming, broadcasting and station management experience behind me, and, for that time have held a real interest and dedication to the work of Hospital Radio. I am now producing programmes for Hospital Radio listeners’ enjoyment from a purpose-built studio at home with an ever-growing library of 16,000+ tracks of music of all genres ranging from the 1920’s to the present day.
‘The A to Z of pop’, is a generic programme that does not mention days, times or seasons. The programmes are 56½ minutes in length and can be supplied to any interested Hospital Radio organisation as an audio CD, or in MP3 format. I can also make custom trailers for the programme relating directly to the station, therefore offering a complete service. So, basically, all you need is someone to switch it on and off, or programme it into your playout system! With many stations now using state-of-the-art technology to deliver their programmes, The A to Z of pop is proving to be the ideal show to use between computer-generated tracks and 'live' output as it is 'presenter-led' and aimed specifically at your listeners. There is no charge for ‘The A to Z of pop’, however, I would like to think that any interested stations would be happy to make a small, initial 'donation' to cover my expenses in reproducing the programmes. All other costs, like buying new tracks, time and effort will be met by myself, as I still believe very strongly in the idea and value of Hospital Radio and feel that this is a very productive use of my time.
Or, for a little 'taster' now, why not go to my Demo page and listen to a few short extracts from various shows. Should you wish to contact me, simply click here. I very much look forward to hearing from you soon with your thoughts and comments, and for your listeners to be enjoying ‘The A to Z of pop’, on your station, very soon!
